Elite Bahamian Education Program

The Elite Bahamian Education Program was created to fund projects that help young Bahamians achieve academic excellence at the collegiant. I am helping young Bahamians to fulfill their dreams by furthering their education, where they may not have been able to attend college any other way. I have helped over 60 students to obtain scholarships in the United States at colleges and universities throughout. The entire time that the student is in the United States I continue to be their mentor and father away from home along with their family members that live in the Houston area.  "For whom God gives a lot, he expects a lot", and for this, God has made me the pioneering male athlete in my country who has taken our country to new heights in sports acheivement through my winning World Championship and Olympic medals.  So this is the reason why God has inspired me, along with the expectation of my small nation, the Bahamas, to assist our precious young Bahamains.  In essence, they become a part of my family. In 1995, I began to delve into an entirely new concept in the Bahamas. I began to develop students who want to get a college education, but because of their financial constraints, would only be able to afford college through the development of their God given physical talents.  I also believe that the only way I can prevent the young people of my country from living non-productive lives; such as, spending time in prision, becoming a statisic of drugs alcohol and other social ills, is to capture them at school age and bring them to a new envirionement where we can infludence their lives with a Christian education and the discipline of positive extracurricular activities. This has been proven by the young men and women who have gone through our program and are now enjoying successful, productive, professional lives in our great little country, the Bahamas.  They were only able to acheive their college degrees because of this new aspect of our program.  To God be the glory!!!
